Her name is Evangeline and she is Nephilim.Evie is stuck in the Underworld until she can find a way to be released from her new found role as Hades. And the longer she remains in Hades the more secrets are revealed about her true origins. A confrontation with a Dark Angel brings two revelations to the Evie – the true identity of Daniel, the Master of the Irin’s assistant, and who is he to Evie herself.
While a trip into the depths of Hades leads Evie into the fiery depths of Tartarus and eventually to the eternal peace of Elysium, will Evie find the peace she seeks? And what about the smoking hot Julian, god of Hades? How far is he willing to go to keep Evie at his side?
I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognize that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practice given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes… I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It’s a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each others loves – it works wonderfully…
My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands – I shall forever remain cross-eyed.
The awesome KD Rose is hosting me on her blog today. Please stop by and say hello.

I’m busy working on a New Adult Paranormal manuscript and a thought crossed my mind – what can a book heroine not leave home without.
Here’s my unofficial list:
A hidden paranormal gift.
A super hunky boyfriend.
An uber sexy, delicious bad boy not afraid of anyone or anything.
Lip gloss. Every girl needs lip gloss.
A mobile phone – who knows. She could get one lifeline.
A map. Heroines are directionally impaired at times.
A spare set of clothes and,
A trendy bag to hold her survival kit.
I’d love to see your lists.

If you haven’t checked out Chapter 1 of Cherish from Marcus’s P.O.V here’s a sneak peek.
It feels good being back home after spending two years in rural China. I can’t say I like parties but since it’s being held in my honor I can’t exactly skip. Pri Chopra, a friend of mine, got her billionaire dad to book the most expensive venue on the shore of South Africa’s East Coast for this epic event. Rock Star is a multistoried, exclusive club built precariously on what is reputed to be South Africa’s most solid rock formation. The up side is I can sneak off at any time – the guests outnumber the residents of Blythedale. I search the crowd for any signs of the girl I haven’t heard from two years.
Damn. She isn’t here yet. I guess she’ll never forgive me for leaving even though I didn’t have a choice. Maybe she isn’t coming.
“Hey, Marcus.” Venetia de Amar bats her fake eyelashes while speaking to me. It’s freaky. I swear it seems like she’s going to have a seizure or something the way she does it.
“Dance?” she holds out her hand.
“Um…no …I was on my way to the little boy’s room.”
I turn away and disappear into the gyrating dancing bodies and find a spot closer to the door. There’s no sign of her.
I give up waiting and sneak out the main hall and onto the balcony of one of the upper levels.
Music thunders downstairs. I fail to understand why these beats need to stir up mini earth tremors for everyone to feel it. The wind’s strong and pushes away the sound. Unfortunately the floor still vibrates with the insane beat. That doesn’t stop me from watching the magnificent, untamed waves racing towards the shore. In the moonlight they look like rolls of a mega, liquid blanket unravelling.
I screwed up by not calling her, emailing or even texting. It’s not like I didn’t have her number. I just didn’t want to give her false hope. I might as well spend the rest of the night alone.
I’m staring at weird shaped clouds when someone joins me on the balcony. Her hair reaches her waist, she’s wearing jeans and a decent top and she sighs so loud I half expect someone to burst onto the balcony and scream “Gotcha.” She turns ever so slightly in my direction and my heart literally stops for a minute.
Sarah. She’s even more beautiful than the last time I saw her. She’s taller, sexier too.
She jumps at the sound of my voice but recognizes me immediately. “Marcus?”
I shove my hands in my pocket as I walk towards her because all I want to do more than anything else in the world is grab her and hold so close that I can feel her heart beat next to mine.
“Did I scare you?”
She puts her hands into the pockets of her jeans and I wonder if she wants to hold me as badly as I want to hug her. “How did China treat you?”
I try not to stare at her. It’s pretty difficult when all I want to do is look. “Awesome. I’ve seen enough fossils to last a lifetime. How are things with you?”
“Let’s just say I don’t try to make sense of the world anymore.”
“Tell me about it.” I lean against the railing next to her.
Emotion surges through my blood and flares in my eyes. I blink quickly. Damn. I hope Sarah didn’t see that. My eyes light up when I feel too much or when I want something really badly. She blinks and stares into my eyes. Change of topic, Quick. Think of something!
“Dance?” I say the first thing that comes to mind. Lucky the music downstairs changes to something more techno. I can’t imagine grinding against Sarah – she’ll probably freak out and run considering we haven’t seen each other for two years.
“I never took you for the shy type.
My publisher, Breathless Press, held a tender love critique session over Valentines weekend. I emailed my final paper – my completed story from my course at SA Writer’s College and got a request.
Yay. Here’s looking forward to fantabulous news soon.

Cherish has a release date.
5 February 2014.
I’m so excited.
The official long blurb for the book follows:
Sixteen-year-old Sarah Parker’s healing touch can bring beings back to life, provided they haven’t crossed over. Until now she’s managed to keep her Gift a secret, but somebody seems determined to expose her and get her back into St. Mary’s Orphanage. Four years ago, Sarah was an orphan at St.Mary’s who’d lost hope of ever being adopted and faced the gruesome Ludus until Ida showed up. She’s lived a dream life since then but Sarah senses something is amiss. She has pretty much settled into her “new life” when cracks appear in her comfort zone. The last thing Sarah wants is to return to St. Mary’s.
When Marcus David, her boyfriend, is accused of murdering a student and her foster mom Ida is attacked shortly thereafter, Sarah’s deepest fears materialize. She loses Ida and Marcus in one breath and returns to St. Mary’s. There’s no escaping the Ludus and the wrath of her newfound enemies. As Sarah readjusts to St. Mary’s, she learns the orphanage holds crucial secrets to her past.
I personalized a few notebooks to donate to a Mom and her kids. I’ve attached the pics.
Also I’ve decided to share a scintillating Saturday excerpt from Cherish. And if you’d like to receive any Swag from me – I have tattoos, bracelets and personalized notebooks to give away – then email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to hearing from you.
“Goths and vampires bond for life.” Pri gestures dramatically. “It’s not easy letting outsiders into their world. They need people they can trust. People who won’t sell them out.”
“So who did you hang out with?” Marcus keeps his voice casual.
Pri sighs dreamily. “The Prince of Darkness. I swear he’s like my soul mate or something.”
“The Prince of Darkness? Um…is he famous or what?” Andy stares at Pri.
“A.K.A. Armando Perez.”
I freeze. The same Armando Perez I silently drooled over this morning. If Marcus weren’t in the picture, I’d have definitely crushed on Armando.
