Guest Post: Sheri Velarde

Hi Everyone,

It’s been a while. Please welcome Sheri Velarde to my blog. She’s here to promote her brand new book…

Book released November 25th

The world of publishing is forever changing and it up to authors to try to keep up. This year has been a great year and a difficult one for me on the publishing front. On the bright side I had my first fantasy novel come out, had a book signing for it, entered new some genres and published several shorts with various publishers. On the downside I saw two of my smaller publishing houses close their doors for good. That saddened me more than I can tell you. That is also what led me to the decision to start self-publishing some of my work. I am still with some small presses and may have something with a large house next year (fingers crossed), but I also want to have some control over my publishing as well. My fiancé and I are forming our own publishing house called Stoker Publishing and Not So Silent Night is our first step towards that dream.
Not So Silent Night is a re-release with expanded scenes and has been completely re-edited. I am pretty proud of this story and think it is the perfect book to launch my self-publishing career on. It’s steamy, sweet and hopeful all at the same time. I am hoping that it is the first of many of my stories that I will be putting out there myself as I move into the new age of publishing, well at least new for me. Scared and excited at the same time. I hope you enjoy a taste of Not So Silent Night.

Here’s what the books about…

Another lonely Christmas approaches for Anna and her life of penance—until an otherworldly distraction appears and changes her life.

Anna is a lonely woman, running her dead grandmother’s flower shop. She hates Christmas and could not feel more lost when a handsome and mysterious Russian, Alexander, walks into her shop and her life. Each has secrets that they are harboring. Just as their passion erupts, the good old boys in town threaten to ruin everything. Getting to know each other is tough for most couples, adding in magic does not make it any easier. Now with a pack of werewolves out to destroy them, things become intense. They find themselves in a fight for their lives. Can their newfound love give them the strength to win against this threat and trust in the future?

Excerpt:
She had almost finished cleaning up in back when she heard the bell on the door ring less than five minutes before closing. “Seriously? Can’t people let me get out of here on time just one damn night?” she muttered to herself as she stormed toward the front so she could wait on her customer and then get the hell out of the store.

Anna whipped around the corner in a huff, not caring if she scared the latecomer away. She stopped in her tracks and almost forgot what had pissed her off when she saw the customer in question. The most breathtaking back view of a man she had ever seen stood just inside the doorway, and her brain stopped working for the moment. Wow, who knew broad shoulders and a great rear could stop a woman in her tracks? While she gawked like an idiot, the man turned around and proved to be even more distracting from the front. This guy was like a wall of muscle, perfect body attached to a very masculine and handsome face with the deepest blue eyes Anna had ever seen.

“Sorry, I know you are about to close, but I need a gift of flowers,” he said when he saw Anna. He had a very thick eastern European accent that she thought might be Russian, which of course only made him hotter. She noticed his eyes taking her in, and she couldn’t help but stand a little straighter, showing her curves off to her advantage while she absentmindedly ran her fingers through her long, wavy, raven hair, which most men seemed to love.

It took Anna’s brain a few moments to catch up before she could speak. Her previous anger and frustration vanished, replaced by eagerness to help this particular customer. “No problem at all. Do you have an idea of what kind of gift you are looking for? Is this for your girlfriend or wife?” Anna held her breath as she waited for this mystery man to answer, a bit annoyed with herself that she cared so much about what he might say.

Gemma confessed her love to Liam and he walked away. Now, years later, she doubts Liam could love her. Can she trust this newfound love?

Alfie wants to have complete control over her inheritance. Without Alfie’s approval she can’t marry. She only has one option—run away and live with her best friend in America.
When his sister begs Liam Marsden to help Gemma he reluctantly agrees. He has a past with Gemma he’d rather forget—involving a failed attempt at betrothal and her professed love. When he sees Gemma again he realizes he can’t ever let her go. Instead of sending her to America he uses the old betrothal agreement to marry her.

Excerpt from Moving In #NA #Novella

I’m working on edits for book #2 in the Moving Series and thought I’d post a teaser from Book #1

Dean’s POV

There’s a note on the fridge when I get to my flat overlooking La Lucia’s famous white sand beach.

We need to talk. I will come over for dinner tonight.

Love,

Mom

My mother is shameless when it comes to breaking into my apartment. Every second of my day has to accounted for. My parents need to cut me some slack. People change—they’re always reminding me, so why the fuck does my mother keep looking for clues to suggest I might’ve slipped up?

I wonder what she and the old man have up come up with after reading the shit Ugly Betty posted. More charity work? No. It has to be something more serious.

My blood runs cold for a moment. I’ve always been perceptive when it comes to my parents, and this time I sense they’ve outdone themselves. Mom is particularly sensitive to what society thinks. She will go to any lengths to keep her reputation intact, and her ideas usually border on unreasonable.

Why does anyone have to take anything Ugly Betty says seriously? Sure, she’s amazingly popular in blogging circles in South Africa. But why the fuck do people pay any attention to the shit she posts? She’d had over a thousand comments the last time I checked her post. It’s like she posted pics of my hard, thick cock the way people were reading her blog.

I’ll find out soon enough.

The traffic’s eased up by the time I head out of La Lucia for the heart of the North Coast. Kwa-Zulu Natal is definitely the most laid back, beautiful place I’ve lived in. I love the anonymity of living here and being able to surf the waves before heading to campus every morning. The best part is the sunshine. Winter is almost nonexistent on the Kwa-Zulu Natal North Coast. People here don’t really care if you’re a celebrity or just a regular person minding your own business. They just let you be.

Unless they’re Lace Higgins.

“Arriving at destination,” my GPS says, cutting into my mental rehearsals of me shaking sense into Lace Higgins. I’ve pictured her with braces, unkempt, mud-colored hair, and garish makeup.

Lace lives in a pretty decent apartment complex near the only shopping center in Salt Rock. The beach isn’t too far off. In fact the complex is near enough for fine sea spray to drizzle on me when I get out my van. It’s a one-street town guaranteed to help anyone blend into obscurity. I bet her acid fingertips are the reason she has to live in a place where people give a shit about who she is and what she does for a living.

Lucky for me, security is pretty lax. I race up the stairs and pause outside her door. A split second before my knuckles can connect to door number eleven to knock, it swings open.

“Alison…dammit, you forgot…” The leggy blonde pauses after realizing I’m not Alison.

Her mouth drops open, and so does her satin robe.

Fuck. She’s as naked as the day she was born beneath the butter-yellow fabric. My cock hardens in seconds. She shivers slightly, and her nipples harden, and…I look down before she pulls the robe together… Her muff is shaved and so smooth I almost reach out and stroke her. Damn. There’s not an ounce of fat on her. Her tummy’s flat, her breasts full and ready to be tasted, and her skin’s a creamy white I could lick and bite until every inch of her was covered in little red marks.

“Show’s over, punk. Can I help you?” Green eyes flash blue murder at me while she knots the belt of her robe securely in place.

The acid in her voice is enough to soften my cock. “Maybe.” I can do acid too. “I’m looking for Lace Higgins.”

She gasps like I’ve proposed sex on the cold, hard floor. Her loose bun falls out of place, covering her face in fine, golden strands. She pushes the hair off her face and then looks me in the eye. “Why?”

“None of your business. This is between Lace and me.”

Cover Reveal – Take A Chance on Me

Hi Everyone,

I have my fabulous writer buddy, Mia Epsilon, over today. We have an exclusive Cover Reveal of her latest release. . .

20140901-204306.jpg

Friends and lovers rarely mix well with coworkers and embezzlement cases as Charlie and Christine are about to discover.

Sounds yummy. Do tell us more, Mia.

After a near fatal accident leads to one incredible night of amazing sex, Christine and Charlie take the leap from friends to lovers.

Christine has battled many demons in the last few years. Charlie has always been her confident and support. When Charlie refuses to answer emails or texts after an embezzling scheme arises at work, Christine must come to terms with not only losing a fabulous lover and her best friend but her job as well.

Charlie carries his own scars when it comes to women. Yet there’s something about Christine which brings out his protective side and makes him hope for love he’s wanted for years.

Christine and Charlie must work together to catch the thief before they can secure a love of a lifetime. Can they catch the embezzler before they lose not only their jobs and each other, but their lives as well?

I’m definitely adding this to my TBR pile.

About Mia. . .

Mia Epsilon lives with her enduring soul mate hubby in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, USA. She’s an avid reader of almost anything but particularly romance, with too many favorite authors to name. Mia is a never-miss-an-episode viewer of Doctor Who and Sherlock, eagerly awaits each new season, and tends to binge watch both on Netflix with a couple of pots of tea and a plate of blueberry scones. She also happily suffers a coffee and chocolate addiction which causes her to visit her favorite chocolate store, The Chocolate Fetish an abnormally high number of times.
She can most often be found at her computer, spinning new tales, or in a quiet padded nook with her e reader happily engrossed in a new story. Look for more books and favorite characters in the ‘Weddings by C & C’ line including: ‘Wedding Belle Blues’, ‘Take a Chance on Me’, ‘When You Believe’, and ‘That Night’.
